Day 3 - Tokyo Disneyland

On the third day, we were sentenced to an entire day in the nightmarish confines of Tokyo Disney-hell. We arrived there at 10am and were told that the coach would only be coming back at 6.50pm to pick us up. Eek.

Tokyo Disneyland is a full-on assault on one's senses, what with the garishly coloured facades, the incessant blaring of Disney tunes and the amalgam of smells (popcorn, pizza, fries) that waft through the air.

My sis and I decided to give Space Mountain a go. To tell you the truth, I was rather jittery: the last time I took a ride on a roller coaster was back in year 2 in Magic Mountain during the Harmonics Spring Tour in LA. It was a long 45min wait before we could finally get on. Along the line were several "escape pods" for people who chickened out during the wait. The ride itself was an adrenaline rush, but a little anti-climactic because the drops weren't that high.

For lunch, we had a pizza and a couple of sandwiches. My sister sort of messed up the order so we ended up with this lunchbox fashioned after Mickey Mouse's head which we had to lug around the rest of the day. Pretty cute though. The pizza was also the same shape!

We took alot of rides: the Bear Jamboree which involved stuffed bears singing and dancing to the blues, Pinocchio's Daring Adventure Ride, Haunted Mansion (overdone and thus not scary at all), Pirates of the Caribbean boat ride. More noteworthy was "It's a Small World" sponsored by SOGO, which involved a boat ride through tunnels filled with wooden children dolls clad in world costumes with the song "It's a Small Small World" on repeat. I swear any more than 5 minutes on that ride would drive anyone crazy.

"It's a Crazy, Crazy World"

These are the rows of prams just outside the Small World ride.

There were a couple of parades throughout the day. These are shots of the one we caught.

revelrous Japanese dancers trying hard to entertain the crowd

The Lilo and Stitch float. Stitch is one ugly bastard.

We saw these furry ears on many ecstatic Japanese girls.

This man has passionate moments according to his T-shirt. Wasn't having one when I took this shot.
